Day 12 - Epupa Falls (Visit to the Himba people):
In the morning w e visited the Himba people who maintain a
very primitive pastoral lifestyle. According to their customs, the woman do not
bathe from puberty, but smear themselves with ground ochre, animal fat and
aromatic wild herbs! They also tend to dress entirely in cowhide which they
obtain from their cattle. The brother of the chief had just died, so the tribe
was in mourning and the sons of the deceased had removed their headdresses and
would continue to do this for a year.

Unfortunately at this point in the holiday I became seriously ill and had to be
Medi-Vac'd out by aeroplane to Windhoek where I spent four days in hospital on a
drip with a tube down my nose, so there are no further photo's at this
juncture.........................
