Having met up with Jan at Okaukuejo, we travelled through the western section
of Etosha (where you need a permit and a registered guide), to the Hobatere
Lodge, which is a delightful, unfenced lodge -the game can wander through the
camp at will. While there we were warned not to walk further than the swimming
pool - (which is surrounded by sharp rocks and a moat, to dissuade elephants
from drinking the water) due to the fact that there were three lions with cubs
in the very near vicinity, and they had been prowling around the camp!
